Allison Pike were briefed by Mitchells and Butlers PLC to oversee the construction of their first timber frame new build restaurant for the premium steakhouse brand, Miller & Carter.
The construction method was selected for speed of build, environmental performance and buildability. Located in a suburban site in Berryfields adjacent to the Aylesbury Vale Parkway Station, the restaurant serves a new residential area of the town.Built in under six months from start to handover the striking design concept by Design Coalition echoes traditional forms with contemporary glazed gables and a sleek palette of materials featuring black stained timber, brick, cedar, slate and clay tiles. The interior concept was also led by brand designers Design Coalition.
The overall project value was around £2.2M. Allison Pike acted as contract administrator and architects, implementing a shell concept and interior brand design by Design Coalition.The Miller & Carter Steakhouse is a distinctive brand with a dining emphasis. Interior theming is strongly centred around the steak offering and uses bold colours to create a dynamic ambiance. The layout seats over 200 in a mix of bar and restaurant covers, with additional external terraced seating linked to both areas.
