A major investment by Whitbread in acquiring a former Hilton Hotel at Newbury with a significant extension and full internal conversion has resulted in the new Premier Inn at Pinchington Lane, Newbury, Berkshire.
In total the hotel hosts 113 completely re-fitted bedrooms and bathrooms within the old structure that was stripped back to shell. Formerly the entrance area had something of the feel of the ‘Crossroads Motel’ and the old entrance, spa and restaurant were demolished to open up the vista of the hotel.
An extension was created to form a bold new mono pitched entrance feature, double height reception and light and airy bar restaurant, which opens out onto the landscaped garden. The food and beverage offering was fitted out to the latest Thyme theme. A lift shaft was also incorporated into the new build element to provide vertical circulation.
