Allison Pike were commissioned to carry out the interior design of the completely re-presented public areas comprising a 90 seat restaurant linked to a 36 seat lounge bar and a comfortable reception lounge. Always an appropriate name for a restaurant committed to fresh local produce, the Greenhouse benefits from an on-site kitchen garden which was the starting point for the interior design.
Inspired by the natural beauty of the local area the scheme employs an earthy palette with fruity accents: burnt orange, plum and raspberry, tempered in the conservatory area with light and airy duckegg and cream.
Features within the design include muted neutral background colours to walls with distressed timber panelling and joinery, enlivened with flashes of boulder pinks and oranges. The sophisticated main dining space remains flexible offering intimate dining for couples or spaces for larger groups to have a relaxed sociable gathering.New Roman blinds in dress the windows which host spectacular views across to Kendal Castle while over table pendants in wood veneer give a warm orange glow.
Internally a glazed screen shields diners while allowing views into the open kitchen through the pass.A new inset log burner forms the focal point within the lounge bar with its large contemporary wingback chairs. The fit out contract was carried out by J Wilkinson Group.
