After a pause while consent was obtained for the complete taking down and rebuilding of the former Tudno Castle Hotel at Llandudno, works have started again in earnest to recreate this historic frontage in the town centre. Years of decay had caused the original rubble filled walls of the building to have deteriorated beyond repair and the overall structure had become dangerous, rendering the proposed façade retention scheme unviable.
Allison Pike Partnership completed their latest project for Whitbread in October. The project, a four-storey, 44 bedroom annex at Premier Inn Stoke Hanley, was handled by Director, Paul Dunlop and project architect Deborah Greenwood. The bedroom offering at Castle Green Hotel has been enhanced by the addition of a pair of new executive rooms, branded the Herdwick Suites. These modern stylish rooms feature amazing panoramic views towards Kendal Castle and the Lakeland Fells. The interior design is based around each room having a luxurious feel with super king bed, large seating area and a swivel large flatscreen TV. The scheme was initially inspired by the rural setting of the Herdwick sheep in their natural environment.

Planning Permission was recently granted for a 90 bedroom Premier Inn Hotel at Oxford Greyfriars Court following a lengthy design and consultation process. Allison Pike acted as client’s executive architect in conjunction with concept architects MICA (formerly Rick Mather Architects). The site is close to the Westgate Shopping Centre and faces Paradise Square, with the design intending to attract customers into the all-day coffee shop and restaurant at ground level. In total the design accommodates 90 bedrooms in addition to the Thyme bar restaurant and ancillary spaces.

Typically the facility takes the space of 3 bedrooms and links to the ground floor reception. Read more

Entrances face onto Station Road at the front and Openshaw Way to the rear, with car parking provided in adjacent town centre public car parks.
A recent addition to Manchester’s city centre accommodation is the stylish new La Reserve Aparthotel located on the Ducie Street/Dale Street corner. Allison Pike provided interior design consultancy services for this project with schemes for the reception and public areas, as well as the apartments.
