After a pause while consent was obtained for the complete taking down and rebuilding of the former Tudno Castle Hotel at Llandudno, works have started again in earnest to recreate this historic frontage in the town centre. Years of decay had caused the original rubble filled walls of the building to have deteriorated beyond repair and the overall structure had become dangerous, rendering the proposed façade retention scheme unviable.
Allison Pike Partnership completed their latest project for Whitbread in October. The project, a four-storey, 44 bedroom annex at Premier Inn Stoke Hanley, was handled by Director, Paul Dunlop and project architect Deborah Greenwood. Medlock FRB were the principal contractors and the project managers were Monaghans.
Staff, colleagues and friends of Allison Pike toasted co-founder Mark Allison as he celebrated his retirement at the stylish Castlefield Rooms at Dukes 92 in Manchester last month.
Mark was joined by current and former staff, clients and fellow consultants, as well as his co-founder Greg Pike. Mark and Greg founded Allison Pike Partnership back in 1984. John Bray and Chris Gill, Joint Managing Directors, gave away some little-known tales about Mark’s career and raised a glass to him. Mark thanked everyone for attending as well as toasting the future of the practice.
Limeyard have recently opened their second restaurant at a town centre location in the Two Rivers Retail Park in Staines. Within the Allison Pike designed fit out there are over 100 covers internally with a mix of fixed and loose seating themed around the Californian branded restaurant. A small external terrace provides another 22 seats.
Nineteen new bedrooms have been added to the Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel at rooftop level overlooking the hotel’s mature tree filled gardens. This Allison Pike design evolved from the client’s desire to increase the overall bedroom capacity from 70 to around 90 rooms with a preferred location above the existing 1970’s bedroom wing. Allison Pike have recently obtained planning consent from Cheshire East for a 19 bedroom rooftop extension to the Best Western Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel. The new rooms will comprise 18 double and 1 accessible room all fitted out to the executive room standard of the hotel, with luxurious walk in showers, contemporary décor and bespoke case goods.
Allison Pike has launched its new look Instagram page using smaller images, like a jigsaw, to build up a bigger image. The page follows in the footsteps of famous US Rapper A$AP Rocky showcasing some of the best projects completed by APP. The most recent posts feature sketches of the newly completed Butlins Chalets at Minehead which work extremely effectively on the Instagram format, that allows three pictures to be posted across with small spaces in between.

Built by Hydes Brewery before WW2 this project involved the conversion of a 1938 listed building, a rare well preserved example of a new build pub of that era.

A new landmark building designed by Allison Pike has been constructed at Worcester County Cricket Club ground on New Road in the city. The development comprises a new 120 bedroom hotel with pitch facing restaurant and a new entrance to the cricket pitches and extended Club facilities including bar and functions spaces. Read more
