Our most recent Premier Inn opened to the public on 9th December this year in Chippping Norton, West Oxfordshire. The new development was carried out in the town centre on a site purchased from Oxfordshire County Council which had been derelict for many years. The former Bay Hotel, a Listed Building on the seafront in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, has been converted and extended to form a new 63 bedroom Premier Inn in the west Wales University and market town. Dating back to the early 19th Century, the Marine Terrace frontage forms part of a sweeping west facing bay. Read more
Allison Pike have designed a 60 bedroom hotel and restaurant for Permier Inn Hotels for a sensitive site that has been granted planning permission by Northumberland County Council. Situated in the historic walled centre of Berwick upon Tweed, within the Citadel area, the site lies in a Conservation Area which since the demise of the Playhouse Cinema has effectively become a vacant gap site. Evolved through consultation and negociation, the approved scheme extends over four storeys plus a roof with attic bedrooms.
Nineteen new bedrooms have been added to the Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel at rooftop level overlooking the hotel’s mature tree filled gardens. This Allison Pike design evolved from the client’s desire to increase the overall bedroom capacity from 70 to around 90 rooms with a preferred location above the existing 1970’s bedroom wing. Hydes Brewery commissioned Allison Pike to refurbish their popular pub dining venue in Gee Cross, Hyde with a full interior design scheme of the ground floor public areas and garden.
The transformation took on board the best aspects of the converted mansion house and enhanced the internal flows and space usage with some subtle layout changes.
The practice is pleased to announce that it has achieved Chartered Practice status, implementing the guidelines and requirements set out by the RIBA. In order to comply with the profession’s governing body standards for Chartered status a practice must operate a Quality Management System, an Environmental Management Policy, a Health and Safety Policy, and have an Employment Policy which addresses the principles defined by the RIBA including equality, diversity and inclusion.
A landmark project designed by Allison Pike has recently been completed in Bristol’s city centre. Located on the A38 Lewins Mead and Lower Maudlin Street corner, the building is an eight storey steel frame structure.
Accommodation within the new building comprises 167 Premier Inn bedrooms, of which 9 are fully accessible, with the upper floors served by 3 lifts and with a Brewers Fayre restaurant at street level. Read more
Allison Pike are proud to announce their contribution towards the Whitbread record number of hotel bedrooms completed in their recently ended financial year. A total of 5461 new Premier Inn bedrooms were added to the portfolio during the year 2015-16 and Allison Pike helped to deliver over 35% of this number through a mix of project types. Read more
At the end of November one of the original founding directors, Greg Pike, retired from the business after nearly 32 years. Starting as a partnership in 1984 at Greg’s house in Mellor Allison Pike has developed and grown over the years, incorporating in 1999 and currently sized at around 25 people based at the Disley offices.
Allison Pike have recently obtained planning consent from Cheshire East for a 19 bedroom rooftop extension to the Best Western Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel. The new rooms will comprise 18 double and 1 accessible room all fitted out to the executive room standard of the hotel, with luxurious walk in showers, contemporary décor and bespoke case goods.
