A well-known destination food venue on the Wirral, the Boathouse was acquired by Hydes Brewery in the recent past. While identifying that the site was in need of a refurbishment the client was keen to preserve and enhance some of the characteristics that have given the pub its popularity, while broadening its appeal and flexibility.
Following a thorough and detailed pre-application consultation with Peak Park, consent has been obtained for a complete refurbishment and extension of Bennetston Hall near Buxton to form a dedicated conference facility together with 32 bedrooms for our client Chimp Management Limited. The building is situated in the National Park and has been empty for over 30 years.
Limeyard have recently opened their second restaurant at a town centre location in the Two Rivers Retail Park in Staines. Within the Allison Pike designed fit out there are over 100 covers internally with a mix of fixed and loose seating themed around the Californian branded restaurant. A small external terrace provides another 22 seats.
A major investment by Whitbread in acquiring a former Hilton Hotel at Newbury with a significant extension and full internal conversion has resulted in the new Premier Inn at Pinchington Lane, Newbury, Berkshire. In total the hotel hosts 113 completely re-fitted bedrooms and bathrooms within the old structure that was stripped back to shell.
A recent completion in the Premier Inn Extension programme has been handed over at the contemporary Widnes hotel. Built over 4 floors in timber framed construction this design by Allison Pike features solar shading on the south facing elevations to reduce heat gain. The external walls are finished in a K Rend through colour system onto a blockwork outer leaf. The lower floor is faced in an artificial stone.
Our most recent Premier Inn opened to the public on 9th December this year in Chippping Norton, West Oxfordshire. The new development was carried out in the town centre on a site purchased from Oxfordshire County Council which had been derelict for many years. The former Bay Hotel, a Listed Building on the seafront in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, has been converted and extended to form a new 63 bedroom Premier Inn in the west Wales University and market town. Dating back to the early 19th Century, the Marine Terrace frontage forms part of a sweeping west facing bay. Read more
Allison Pike have designed a 60 bedroom hotel and restaurant for Permier Inn Hotels for a sensitive site that has been granted planning permission by Northumberland County Council. Situated in the historic walled centre of Berwick upon Tweed, within the Citadel area, the site lies in a Conservation Area which since the demise of the Playhouse Cinema has effectively become a vacant gap site. Evolved through consultation and negociation, the approved scheme extends over four storeys plus a roof with attic bedrooms.
Nineteen new bedrooms have been added to the Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel at rooftop level overlooking the hotel’s mature tree filled gardens. This Allison Pike design evolved from the client’s desire to increase the overall bedroom capacity from 70 to around 90 rooms with a preferred location above the existing 1970’s bedroom wing. Hydes Brewery commissioned Allison Pike to refurbish their popular pub dining venue in Gee Cross, Hyde with a full interior design scheme of the ground floor public areas and garden.
The transformation took on board the best aspects of the converted mansion house and enhanced the internal flows and space usage with some subtle layout changes.
