A new landmark building designed by Allison Pike has been constructed at Worcester County Cricket Club ground on New Road in the city. The development comprises a new 120 bedroom hotel with pitch facing restaurant and a new entrance to the cricket pitches and extended Club facilities including bar and functions spaces. Read more
The Greenhouse Restaurant forms part of the Castle Green Hotel at Kendal and boasts 2 AA rosettes. Allison Pike were commissioned to carry out the interior design of the completely re-presented public areas comprising a 90 seat restaurant linked to a 36 seat lounge bar and a comfortable reception lounge. Always an appropriate name for a restaurant committed to fresh local produce, the Greenhouse benefits from an on-site kitchen garden which was the starting point for the interior design.
An Allison Pike residential design scheme has been completed by Cheshire Housebuilders on a brownfield site close to the centre of Alderley Edge in Cheshire. Formerly occupied by the Royal Oak pub and car park the site lent itself to redevelopment with high quality new houses.
A challenging “island” site in Manchester’s Northern Quarter comprised a group of old and partly derelict warehouse and former public housing buildings. The design involved the sympathetic conversion and linking of there elements to form a new public house and boutique hotel.
The Public House bar and dining areas are split across two floors, accessed from a classic “London Pub” corner entrance with ground and first floor serveries and a linking feature staircase. Playing on the heritage of the area and the building, the spaces have a warm earthy feel with an informal “lived-in” character. Above this there are fifteen bespoke bedrooms featured recently in the Guardian.
Hydes Brewery commissioned Allison Pike to reconfigure and extend their new acquisition of the former Helsby Arms near Chester.
The design involved adding a large new orangery linked with sliding folding doors to a new dining terrace and beer garden. The orangery features a lantern light and contemporary ceramic flooring to create a light and airy dining space.
Traditional pub values are maintained in the bar areas which are centred around a high quality new hardwood servery with stone backdrop. The project was completed in 12 weeks and opened early December 2014.
Grosvenor Estates evolved this development proposal with Whitbread to create a hotel and retail space on this prominent site on Hanover Street Liverpool, part of the overall Liverpool One redevelopment. The site’s prominence required a striking landmark building with contemporary detailing and the planning Public Art contribution was provided by the angled art glass corner feature which is angled out over the street. At ground level a mix of 7 various sized retail units, together with the hotel entrance were formed, totaling over 30000sq ft.
At upper levels the Premier Inn offers a full restaurant facility together with 183 bedrooms, served by lift access to all levels. The complex steel framed building included fire fighting lifts as well as conventional passenger lifts, dry risers and other fire precautions developed in conjunction with the statutory authorities, together with ground level delivery and servicing strategy.
Faced externally in a precise charcoal coloured facing brick the building makes a strong urban statement and reinforces the street pattern, punctuated by the strong vertical emphasis of the corner feature entrance.

Prominently positioned at the heart of Fallowfield, opposite Owens Park, the new stylish Bar & Kitchen has been developed to appeal to students, academics as well as the locals of Fallowfield and beyond.
There is a new destination on Upper Street Islington: Allison Pike have just re-designed the Vineyard for Barracuda Group. After a quick but effective refurbishment the pub has a new stylish and fun atmosphere. Contemporary and edgy décor are used in various spaces divided up by the use of subtle frames and arches. Earthy natural materials expressing the history of the building are contrasted against modern fixtures and shiny fabrics. Read more
The New Premier in Kidderminster has opened within the Victorian Slingfield Mill, a grade II listed building, located in the carpet manufacturing area of the town. The upper three floors of the mill are occupied by the Premier Inn, providing 56 rooms, along with a new restaurant on the fourth floor. The restaurant features the exposed original roofing beams making for a characterful dining experience. Secondary glazing has been used in other parts of the hotel along with exposed brickwork to further retain the Victorian features of the building.
